experience varies from one department from another one
Senior Administration Officer (Ancien employé) –  Toronto, ON11 octobre 2019
I spent a couple of years in one department and the work was relaxed. I barely did overtime. Atmosphere was pleasant/ neutral. I have been working in another department for a couple of months now, and overtime is in the culture. Staff is friendlier and work hard.
In overall, the management tries to be pleasant by organizing a few events.
Tasks are repetitive and high volume; nothing difficult.
Difficult to advance in your career within the institution.
Good place to start a career . multi cultural.

Non Ethical.
Employee (Employé actuel) –  Burlington, ON4 octobre 2019
orking there is working at the prison no team work. no ethics, Managers force the employees to work 2.50 hours every week for free with no pay. They keep increasing work load in some departments without enough employees.

Other departments pay their long time employees to socialize and harassing other employees. Management needs improvement as they are rude, disrespectful, unfair and lack all kind of managerial skills.

There are lot of favoritism in the workplace is exactly what it sounds like: favoring someone not because he or she is doing a great job, but for reasons outside of the job performance. ... Oftentimes, favoritism occurs when a manager and an employee have developed a friendship beyond the workplace.

HR do what managers tell not what is they suppose to do. They are not supporting the employees.

There is no respect or values at this place

Greedy managment. Don't care about employees . Very stressful work environment with no values.

Work overtime for free.
Mangment not fair all what they care about is making money and don't care about their employees

Good place to work
BUSINESS ANALYST/TECHNOLOGY BUSINESS ANALYST (Ancien employé) –  Toronto, ON19 septembre 2019
Good place to work. I worked with a great team on some fun projects. Sometimes, it was fast paced but that helped me learn.

Management had a strong vision and it trickled down.

Toxic culture - need to improve
Senior Manager, Content Marketing & Communications (Ancien employé) –  Toronto19 septembre 2019
Very toxic environment and no empowerment for its people. The issues are deep-seeded and span departments. They watch their people like hawks and there is very little to no trust.

Laurentian Bank of Canada Reviews
Coordinator - Talent Acquisition - Human Resource (Employé actuel) –  Toronto, ON13 septembre 2019
A company that is good at hiring great people, transform into below average and let them go. I love working at this company but it doesn't offer any growth opportunities

Great beginner job for someone entering the financial field
Bilingual Mortgage Administrator (Ancien employé) –  Toronto, ON27 août 2019
If you want to start your financial career somewhere, this is the place to be. It will push you to discover answers to your questions by picking people's minds. Although the culture of B2B is not reliant on social interaction, if you come from a closed-off job to this, it makes for a good transition. It certainly will not help you improve your social skills if you come from a selling position and this job might not be for you. It is repetitive in nature and the instruction received, as well as training, is being conducted by people who have been in your position and learned the tips and tricks of how certain work assignments need to be done. Needless to say, not everyone is a good teacher so it creates confusion more often than not as two people can give different advice in regards to how to complete a task. Also, do not expect a raise before 1 year has passed, even if you are the best at your job. The words of the president still resonate with me: if you want to advance in this job and create a career for yourself in banking, you must be willing to answer questions others do not want to answer.
Points positifs
Free lunch in the summer time, good work parties
Points négatifs
Long hours necessary for advancement, smelly people, poor training system

Excellent first job, horrible in general
Administration Officer (Employé actuel) –  Toronto, ON27 août 2019
Managers incompetent, highly bureaucratic environment. Bilingual employees make 10,000 more annually at the same job level. No proper coordination between departments. Overall a big mess, useful as a stepping stone into banking and finance industry in Toronto.

nice workplace
Adjointe en placement (Employé actuel) –  Montréal, QC14 août 2019
nice workplace but bad management. All have leave the company months after months.
No administrative process and very bad overall process.
VMBL is the dark site of the banque laurentienne, we forget us most of the time. VMBL has a big delay with informatique structure and automatic transactions. All is manual and it gives place for frequent mistakes

Team work, excellent training and support, development of networking.
Administrative Officer (Ancien employé) –  Toronto, ON12 août 2019
A typical day at work was to complete the assigned transactions, report to supervisor and received training to improve performance.
Supervisors and managers took time to provide feedback and training (one on one) when needed.

Most of people working there are very polite and human
Personal Finances Advisor (Ancien employé) –  Montréal, QC7 août 2019
Your success depends on your director. If you are lucky to have a manager that works hand in hand with you, you can make it. There are to many ladies in management that promote more themselves in terms of looks and social status and are intensively into gossip.

Points positifs
Café gratuit, collègues, près du métro.
Points négatifs
Direction, gestionnaires, précarité d'emploi.

As If I was still in the third World
Senior Administration officer (Employé actuel) –  Toronto, ON30 juillet 2019
The sole and purpise of recruiting newcomers in this company is to take advantage of them.
After planning to layover every unionised worker in Quebec, they are just hiring new comers with a very low salary, temporary contracts and not a single incentive or advantage. Yiu need to be permanent to get anything and to be permanent is just very difficult.

There is big potential of growth and learning but it is just wasted by incadescent discriminative old ways managers who only got there by staying and waiting, sometimes it is hard to just explain the simplest concept or idea and you will hear comments and critique that will push you to just keep quiet and not bring your ideas to the table.
Points positifs
Coffee machine on site, but provided by the building management apparently.
Points négatifs
Everything else

A lot of work, bad training, difficult atmosphere
Documentation Specialist (Employé actuel) –  Montréal, QC13 juillet 2019
I would say that the atmosphere is not easy, the colleagues are not always friendly and the training is not really good. The manager has a hard time understanding employees issues. There is a lot of workload and a lot of pressure. I would not recommend working at the bank in documentation, maybe it is different for other types of positions.
Points positifs
free coffee, good bonus, good rrsp, a lot of challenge if that is what you want
Points négatifs
repetitive work, not a lot of support
