Shortly after starting working at Bad Axe Throwing San Diego most of my coworkers either quit or left for better opportunities. Leaving me working with no store manager and only two other coworkers who were only there a few weeks longer than me. Soon after that management hired a few more workers and found a new manager who was not qualified for the job she got. She came to work high everyday and was extremely rude to myself and the other pre-existing employees causing two of them to quit shortly after. She talks very badly about people behind their backs, talks town to customers, and then puts on a show for the managers to act as if she's doing great and that everything is fine. Seeing as most of the upper management if located in Canada and only watches through cameras she gets away with everything and blames things she does on other people. Most people who get offered a job quit shortly after working there because of the complete disfunction starting from the upper management down. Working at Bad Axe Throwing is very hard because although you're told its a part time job and they're unable to guarantee hours you can work anywhere from 10-40 a week (usually way closer to 10). Outside of 48 hours you're just given shifts with no notice or ability to accept or decline them. Theres very little structure, no benefits, and no guaranteed tips as theres no gratuity included in large events. Management gets you to believe that you can make so much money in tips on top of great hourly pay when they cannot guarantee anything. Some days I would walk away with a three hour shift and $5 in tips from a 20+ person party. I would not suggest working here unless you like a very unstable job and terrible coworkers/ managers.
