Worst company to work for. They will push you and add to your workload without compensation or a thank you. Management makes promises but never delivers. If you are not part of the A group, you are disregard.
Favoritism. Management are horrible to anyone not part of their golden group.

I am glad to be a part of Aviva Canada as it has given me very good working experience. Salaries can be a bit higher (if I compare with others in the same industry) but work culture and personal growth is surely there if you work hard and give your best. Aviva recognizes the effort and work towards employees well being.
Management always asks for ideas and feedback from their stuff on the best work practices and procedures. Managers are very supportive. The corporate culture of the company is great. They provide career advancement to every employees.
Aviva is run by Corporate Managers in Toronto who have never been on the front line and don't care about the health of their employees, and only want acquiesence to their demands
Good salary, bonus, company car
ridiculous work/life balance; constant changeover of management
• Leading the project by translating BRD into functional specifications, Process Flow diagram and User stories. • Coordinated with both business users and developers for arriving at a mutually acceptable solution for Guidewire Policy Center, Billing Center and Claim Center along with Financial Reports and Oracle GL. • Functioned as a liaison between clients and development teams to analyze opportunities for business process improvements relating to the Reporting Systems (from Guidewire Claim center and Billing Center). • Analyzing user Stories and providing clarifications to team’s queries for Acceptance Criteria. • Participated/Chaired in Defect Triage meeting to set the defects priority as per Business impact.
Aviva is a great place and can be a stepping stone for your career. You need to be consistent with your work and should remain in constant touch with your manager. As part of procurement team, there is a lot you have to do as per your team goals and focus highly on developing relationships with your internal stakeholders regularly.
Very bad management, HR and upper management. Too much favouritism shown to "moles" on whom they thrive, yet ignoring huge errors of Moles. Very very poor starting salaries despite experience and industry recognized credentials. Management interferes with your job advancement or moving within the company to a different department.
Can’t seem to retain talented staff as there is no opportunity for management roles from within. Constantly hiring managers from outside, who either are not suitable as people managers nor are they technical ! Middle management is the biggest fall down.
Vacation & work/life balance.
Recognize talent from within to assist employees to move towards management roles.
Rampant with corporate meddling and decisions made by people who have never been on the front line. Corporate management under constant turnover with each new “leadership team” wanting to install “their vision” and they each break the wheel just in hopes they can claim they were the one that fixed it. Employees routinely told “if you don’t like it , then Subway is hiring”
Aviva Canada Inc. is a Canadian property and casualty insurance company and a wholly owned subsidiary of the UK-based Aviva plc. It provides home, personal, automobile, recreational vehicle, group and business insurance to more than three million customers. The group has around 4,000 employees, 30 locations and 1,700 independent broker partners.
Disgracefully managed practice. Lead counsel has good intentions however the person overseeing supervisors and staff is biaised with her staff, does not respond to workplace complaints, is negligent in reporting incidents to upper HR staff, has no HR training herself let alone people skills. If an effective manager could be put in place that listens to supervisors, feedback and staff concerns this could be a positive work environment rather a high school and toxic environment.
