J'aime collaborer avec les 3 directeurs et l'assistant vice président. Et j'aime aidé les employés au quotidien dans certaines tâches.
L'aspect le plus difficile c'est lorsqu'un employé n'est pas content exemple parce qu'il n'a pas reçu un bonus ou son augmentation et qu'il vient me voir pour vider ce qu'il a sur le coeur mais je sais que certain d'entre eux espère me faire parler.

Aviva knows how to make you feel at home. I love the benefits and the sense that the company really cared about making their employees feel comfortable and enjoy work.
The work culture in my department was a bit lagging though, people worked well in teams, but the pace was slow and it was clear who was not contributing at all.

Aviva is a great place to work to start your career and learn about insurance. People are amazing and the management truly want you to succeed. Benefits are great, three weeks to start for vacation and you can buy a week, plus you have retirement savings they contribute to as well for you. Plus you can buy shares in Aviva, so you truly have a stake in the company you work for.

Aviva has a great culture and respectful management, especially in the Financial Operations team. Although it is going through some changes, most staff are dedicated and willing to help each other out. There is some politics, but not too overbearing compared to other places. Nice open concept seating areas at Markham office with a spacious cafeteria and many food options. There is opportunity to work from home and accommodates flex schedules. Pay is on the low end, but great health and RRSP benefits balance it out a bit.

Lack of advancement and career development is probably the main reason why people leave. Unfortunate that people have to leave as one would think the company size offers many opportunities. Great place to work if you get to grow within the company.

This company is a joke. No proper training, terrible employee experience and incompetent management. Manager or so called “leaders” are a joke, do not know anything about work standards and out right bullies. They spend their time eating and socializing and are not trained in anything. The only way to get a good bonus or move up it to suck up to them. They pick and choose their favourites and bully the employees they personally do not like. The managers look at your calls only if you do something wrong and never praise the good work you do. Bonuses are selected based on their personal feelings about you and not about your work ethics. The job pays low compared to most insurance companies. Their claims are a joke and the whole training structure is pathetic. Save yourself from a low paying, butt kissing job and go for literally any other insurance company.

There was lots of change when i was here, which made it hard. Sometime it would feel as if I was starting a new job. There was no progression in the sense of a salary, but rather more responsibilities and deliverables.

No job security, or advancement. Co-workers are great. Good personal insurance discount. Management is up and down - too many changes. Not valued as a employee.

The work environment at most departments is great. Some of the executives support what you do and if you are good at what you do, you find often that you are given independence within the direction you have been set.

I found that the people, both in the technology stream and the business stream to be excellent, helpful and friendly.


No wonder I have gone back to it four times! (On contract)

The office culture is fairly relaxed with a very open door policy. The company itself is committed to leveraging technology to get the job done and management is very open and willing to listen to staff ideas.

Glad for the years of experience and met many professional people and I learned a little bit of the Insurance Industry along the way. It was a wild ride!

Middle management has no idea what is happening on the front lines, leading to a loss of $300 million in 2017.

The place is a ghost town at 5 pm, which is great for work-life balance but kind of makes you feel like nobody there gives a hoot about the company or its success.

Aviva is a great company to work for - and definitely better than the reputation of an old school, boring insurance company. Flexible structure - being able to choose where you work (for most of the employees).

Typical day: Either total day with phone line open to taking on a new claims (even though you may have over the 150 files that are deemed that top amount of files that you should have), or a day off the phone, or a few hours/day on the phone, thereby allowing you time to work on existing files.

Tons of stupid weekly and monthly and unscheduled sudden meetings. Also Manager sitting with you bi-weekly with a linked headset, listening to conversations etc. Supposedly there to help you with problems, but also watching every little detail of how you work with clients, how you organize your day, very little time actually given to helping you out on big decisions (told to seek out professionals in the field instead)


Work load is increased in a way that makes you think they you are learning new things that will broaden your knowledge base, but in reality, workload is increased without reducing file load or by taking you off new file intakes.


Phone calls are taped, (supposedly to protect client and employee, and for training purposes) These are actually re-played to you during reviews and used against you to reduce or not give yearly raises. Never included are the calls were you are praised etc.


Horrible place to work, do NOT fall for the statement of the president that "they will treat you like they want to be treated".


People leave this place like lemmings jumping off a cliff.


One final note, if you want to move up the ladder, kiss butt hard, because unless you make into the good graces of your boss's boss, they will find a way to make you so uncomfortable

Cannot say much since I was working in AVIVA for a short time as consultant, but I was enjoying time spent in AVIVA. Department Manager was great person and knowledgeable specialist (rare these days). I'd like to work there again if I will have such opportunity

New experience. Too new to rate. There is a great group of people here that have made me feel very welcome. The on boarding experience was positive and the benefits are competitive.
