Salaire résonnable, bonne coopération entre employés. Bonne acceuille
Points positifs
Linge fourni
You're just a number. This isn't the dofasco of the 90's. Most of the crew was working hurt. It isn't worth the stress of starting out as a casual. Lots of places pay just as good or better.
VERY poor leadership, culture lost in time. Do not apply here if you have any respect for your self. Poor wages and benefits, bullying is going on strong and hard every single day You will go home every day hating your life.

to many to mention
Tough work but they pay you well. Team leaders were very helpful and got the atmosphere was actually pretty positive considering how tough the work is. Enjoyed time working here before covid layoffs
Points positifs
good pay, days off
Points négatifs
lay offs

Lots of hours. Lean on middle managment and it likely won't change. Sign of the times. Workers are under CBA. Sometimes many constraints due to that.

Good job and laid back for the most part but hard to make sense of it when you have to work for 2 years just to be full time.. hshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshs

1-2 year probation
Good company to work. It is a fast-paced company, lots of work to do. Very good benefits, good salary, good work-life balance. I recommend ArcelorMittal.
Ils ont une belle image corporative mais dans la vraie vie c est autre chose les bottines suivent pas les babines
Worked there for 34 years have nothing bad to say was a safe place to work developed lots of friendships wages were good enjoyed getting up in the morning to go to work
benefits are not good, no benefits after you retire
hourly rate is low
pension is terrible
very poor organization during shutdowns
most of the people are great though, very friendly
Retired after 30 years at the company. That's very good company to work for. Job security is very good. Opportunity for career advancement is very good. Salary and benefits very competitive.
Job is good and the pay is good. Have to keep your eyes and ears open at all times. Can be a very dangerous place and must pay attention at all times.
Great place to learn and grow, competitive salary, pension and profit sharing. Lots of extra curricular activities for employees and their families including sports teams, corporate events and support services.
Bonnes possibilités d’avancement et la sécurité y est respectée

Horaires
This is not the company your dad worked for. Pay and benefits are slowly becoming below standards. Advancement opportunities don't always go to the most deserving.
Great place to work, very well payed, insurance and benefits, slow pace work. the only downside to it is that its very isolated, there is no fly in fly out for welders
Horrible place too work . Tons of favoritism nepatisim . Management is horrible more concered about there profit sharing then there workers safety . A casual contract is a way too save money by not paying workers benefits profit sharing etc.
Dofasco is not what it used to be, they hire you as a casual on a year to year basis. After a year of working your allowed 2 weeks unpaid vacation but dont take it as it looks bad on you. Also come in sick so they can send you home, never call in sick. Lastly if you just wanna feel like a number on a random rotating list of people this is the place for you.
Only hire contractors under an engineering firm that seem to be getting to be getting a kick back. Old full time employees get a raise every day along with a huge production bonus but the new contract employees are locked into a rate forever and they will not even discuss raises
While I'd love to say this place is great it's far from that. The opportunities to learn as a technology/engineering person are significant and if your in "the group" you'll advance. Also, if you tow the company line then you should also do well. Operations makes good money but it's a very harsh environment and shift work. Maintenance makes good money too but again it is a harsh environment
Negatives - There is not enough money to sustain this business - for instance you have to take you're own garbage out and the cleaning services are atrocious. Get ready to mop your own floors and sit on dirty toilets. While they rake in 100's of millions in profits they continuously cut back on benefits, training and pay. Wage increases are below real inflation rates. Perks - what's that. Need a pair of safety boots - please bring me your shoes so I can measure the tread depth. Training - sorry no external training this year, or last. New uniforms - no way; there's cutbacks so we're actually taking some away. Also, welcome back to the 70's way of thinking. Management is trying but suffers from severe disorganization. They are trying however. This is a dying industry. Don't be fooled. It will be under severe pressure for many years and the new owners are making sure they get every last cent. Even if it means the little guy loses. It's toxic - literally.
Positives - The old management team actually cares about the employees. They're trying to stay family oriented. The amount to learn is immense as is the ability to acquire skills for tech. But advancement is not - plus...
