Great place to work if you enjoy being belittled, and bullied by the people who are aupppsed to be training you. They preach about zero tolerance and their wonderful operating procedures but don’t care when your being treated like a second class citizen and being berated every shift.
Spent most of my adult life at Dofasco started right out of high school treated me like family from the get go great training in all jobs from team member to team leader.Made lots of friends that I keot in my life after retirement, benefits and profit sharing were one of the reasons i applied at dofasco in 1977 and made it possible for me to retire in 2011.
Points positifs
team atmosphere friends i made and keep in my life
Points négatifs
did not always agree with management on some things but always did my job as required
Depending on what team you are with (they rotated teams in this department each year) it could be great or very bad. First team i was with wasn't very good. Some guys training me were condescending. One girl I worked with would talk with all the guys but would hardly talk to me (I am a girl). I felt very alone on that team. A year later on the next team it was great. We all got alone very well. We would talk on breaks instead of sitting in silence like last team. We would order food together on weekend shifts. Learning from and teaching others was pleasant. Work flow was overall great on this team.
Points positifs
Good pay
Points négatifs
