Avis d'employé sur ArcelorMittal
Overall it's a good place to work
Typical work day was 8 to 5. My direct supervisor and collogues was nice. However, there wasn't much training of the job when I started. Each year, I met all my work expectation, never had a warning or violation. Suddenly one day the middle management fire you without a cause. My direct supervisor doesn't even know of the firing. The strength is our people was all lies.

ArcelorMittal offers many good training opportunities and career mobility. The organization is well staffed and it boasts a good work/life balance and good bonus programs.
Depending on what team you are with (they rotated teams in this department each year) it could be great or very bad. First team i was with wasn't very good. Some guys training me were condescending. One girl I worked with would talk with all the guys but would hardly talk to me (I am a girl). I felt very alone on that team. A year later on the next team it was great. We all got alone very well. We would talk on breaks instead of sitting in silence like last team. We would order food together on weekend shifts. Learning from and teaching others was pleasant. Work flow was overall great on this team.
Points positifs
Good pay
Points négatifs
Sometimes got stuck working with sh!tty people
You're just a number. This isn't the dofasco of the 90's. Most of the crew was working hurt. It isn't worth the stress of starting out as a casual. Lots of places pay just as good or better.
