Fun loving and productive.
Warehouse Associate (Ancien employé) –  Delta, BC24 novembre 2019
Working at amazon is really fast paced but along with this they have a lot of fun activities to keep their employers refreshed such as table tennis and other fun loving and stress relieving games. Along with this, they make their employees to perform exercises before commencing their work and after break intervals so that they are physically fit.

Cherrypicking and segregation
FC Associate (Ancien employé) –  Delta, BC7 août 2019
Due to quotas many people cherrypick the carts to restock (not supposed to) and despite safety regulations you will see items thrown on top of shelves and a coworker of mine actually had something fall onto them.

But the job was lonely as my shift consisted of a lot of non-native English speakers who had their own language cliques.

Discrimination and lack of respect
Packer (Ancien employé) –  Delta, BC20 décembre 2018
At the delta location you will be discriminated and treated different if you are NOT from india. They chose the hardest job for non-east-indians while they are just talking and gossiping in each corner. The rates are manipulated by the PAs.
Get ready to be treated by a-holes who doesn't have any education and treat you very disrespectful.

Disrespect from supervisors, discrimination if you are not from India, annoying hindi language 24/7!!

simple and meticulous
Seasonal Fulfillment Associate (Employé actuel) –  Delta, BC2 novembre 2018
until i was working at this job i was told very little about my position. useful information wasn't given during training or orientation. perhaps this was to hide the simplicity of the task, and to prevent me from rejecting the position until i was working so they could get some use out of me. the job consisted on scanning items and putting them in plastic boxes then put those boxes onto a conveyor. the job was very simple, it was more the way the job was presented than the actual position. the hours were long night shifts of 10 hours for 4 days and some days would be mandatory overtime resulting in working a 60 hour week performing a very simple and boring task.
Points positifs
good pay, breakrooms had various food options.
Points négatifs
long hours, short breaks, poor work and social life balance.

Don't bother here
Learning Coordinator (Ancien employé) –  Delta, BC26 octobre 2018
The rumors you've likely heard are mostly true. Amazon cares about money, not about its employees. Even if you're looking for seasonal or temporary work, don't apply here.
Points négatifs
60 hour weeks for months on end sometimes

Employees or slaves?
Pucker (Ancien employé) –  DELTA, BC, CANADA7 octobre 2018
Suffering from IBack, Knee and Hand problems are part of the job.

10 hours shifts that break you down. It you are a picker be ready to literraly walk, bend, go up a ladder for 9 hours 1/2. The walking is extenuating, Extreme physical duties. Managers care more about reaching their orders pick gotas than the employees health.

Also, the promise of day 1 benefit, it's a LIE! I Human Reaources excususe its that Amazon has been hiring a lot of employees and Western Life has a backroad processing employees benefits.

90% of the employees are newcomers to Canada that don't know tthat they can find a better pay job, less stress, less health issues, better hours than Amazon and of course be treated as a person not as a robot/slave.

Honestly employees work as slaves, managers even discourage employees to go to the bathrooms, every single day at the star of the shift they treated employees of termination if they do not keep their rating.

AMAZON DELTA in Brirish Columbia, Canada is the worst place to work!!!!!

Jeff Bezos,
Get robots to work at your Amazin warehouses.
Points positifs
None

Long hours, but good environment
Packer (Ancien employé) –  Delta, BC29 juin 2018
At times the days seemed pretty long, but the pay was good and the break rooms were interesting, and fun. They have their own place to buy food, and everyone is usually fairly friendly. I'm happy to have learned what it was like to work there, packing, and helping with the quality of packages. The management was fine, and they were always concerned about the health and safety of their workers, to make sure that injuries and such were kept to a minimum. The workplace culture during work hours were usually fairly fast paced, and at times it was tedious, though the friendliness of my co-workers always made me able to keep up. The hardest part of the job was definitely the tedious, and long hours. The most enjoyable part was meeting all the new people I could, and the break rooms were a fairly fun place to be in.
Points positifs
Able to buy a variety of food in lunch rooms, and prizes were sometimes given to hard workers.
Points négatifs
Long Hours, Tedious work.

Overall positive but somewhat heartless corporate environment
Warehouse Associate (Employé actuel) –  Delta, BC7 juin 2018
---------------------------
Amazon is a great place to work, but only some of the time.

Part time is good because it's 20 hours a week.

Full time during "peak" can result in 60-hour long, hard weeks.

The staff and management mostly really do care about your safety, any issues you face, and your productivity and are happy to listen to suggestions (especially those which result in higher rates which means more productivity which meaans more profits for Amazon.)

The only problem is if you are not in good shape to begin with you will likely not be capable of being productive enough (unless maybe you cut corners as much as possible) and will eventually be let go.

Rates mean if you aren't productive enough for three weeks within a 90-day period you will be fired.

Management has no interest in excuses like pain, issues, broken systems, etc when it comes to rates.
If your rates are lower than most others no one bothers to ask "why". They just presume you are lazy, which is quite often not the case.

Also different processes (jobs like "stow" "pack" or "pick" for example) vary wildly in how easy/insanely challenging they can be, and during peak things get harder (because it's peak.)

Overall its a good starting job and a good place for you and a few friends to try and get hired together and work with people you know, and meet great new people, but its still tough warehouse work.
It's a grind.
Points positifs
Nice wonderful people, great job to get hired with people you know, mostly very fair policies
Points négatifs
Hard labour, long hours, rates trump safety in reality

Be fast
FC Associate (Ancien employé) –  Delta, BC20 avril 2018
Don't underestimate the demands of this job. Typical shift is 10 hours and every minute is accounted for so be sure to use the washroom only during break time and always keep tab of the time. It's a fairly independent job which pits colleague against colleague (Helping new employees is discouraged as it wastes time). Many workers divide into language cliques so if you don't speak any of the major languages you might feel a little lonely depending on your shift.

The daily quota is not impossible but requires a combination of speed, organization (without overthinking it), and luck.

Employee turnover is high so don't feel bad if you're let go at some point.
Points positifs
4-day work week, high starting wage, clear targets
Points négatifs
Competing against colleagues to reach quota, ethnic division, possibility you'll use up one of your days off to recover from soreness

Productive and organized work place
Warehouse Associate/Order Picker (Ancien employé) –  Delta, BC14 mars 2018
A typical day of work at Amazon is 10 hours long. Time goes by pretty quickly because it's always busy and there's always something to do. I learned how to manage customer orders on time with assured quality. Initially, the hardest part of the job is adapting to having to walk at a very past pace 10 hours a day.
