Good for short term work and nothing else

I worked as a seasonal warehouse associate and busted my butt hitting every metric on sorting and scanning items in hopes of earning a permanent job there but that is now how Amazon hires people. If you get in at the right time you will become a full time employee, your work ethic is irrelevant. If you need a short term job with terrible hours and a ton of repetitive motions then you will enjoy it there, otherwise move on.Management also only speak to each other in hindi/punjabi, it can come off as disrespectful and it makes you wonder if you can really trust them.

Points positifs

They hire basically anyone

Points négatifs

Bad shift times (12pm-1130pm), manual labour/repetitive tasks, poor management

Good environment. Would love to work here again. Lots of potential and areas to grow. However, very long hours and short breaks. Oh and the pay is okay too.

Bitter sweet

Amazon is amazing in terms of accommodating whether it is work related or not. Besides that, the work culture and productivity demands are too high. Management is very toxic as well and do not actually care about the well being of associates.

Job with good and bad days

Fully dependent on your manager. Most folks dont have a clue what a data analyst does. Work varies from day to day and can get quite stressful with heavy workload. Since management does not really understand role, they do not know the scope of the role and lay whatever question they might have at you and expect to get it done in a jiffy.

Decent job! Not for the weak

The pay is higher than minimum which is nice, full time & you handle your own time off (vacation, PTO, VTO) attendance, etc.The work week at Amazon is 4 days on 3 days off, (pretty sweet) 10 hour shifts, which is not easy to do unless you’ve previously experience that kind of work load. You are on your feet for all of that time besides two 30 minute breaks. It is a lot on your body, but I will say there is freedom with this job, going back to you are in control of handling all of your time off, no calling in to your manager when you’re sick, it’s all done through an app showing your time off balances which I personally prefer. On another plus side, for an introvert, you don’t deal with customers as you would in retail. Amazon is definitely not for everyone, but Id recommend it for anyone who can handle it, the work itself is not hard at all and actually quite repetitive hence why I’ve been in multiple departments, unless you move up to higher positions, the work is simple, it’s just how long the shifts are and the repeating body movements that make it rough some days. Most managers are pretty cool and understanding, you can decide to make friends with your coworkers or be on your own, personal choice lol. The overall vibe depends on your department and how much your like or dislike it, you can always keep moving around to find what you prefer doing there.I’d give my job at Amazon a solid 7/10

Points positifs

Flexibility, independence, pay, teamwork, opportunities

Points négatifs

long hours, hard on body, repetitive

Not so much fun place to work.

What is the best part of working at the company? There is room for growth if you are in your teens. You get overtime pay if you work extra hours/ shifts. The benefits are amazing. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The stressful part is at the PICK, IC/QA, and STOW departments where an associate is treated like numbers. The work is physically challenging, standing for 9 hours. Two breaks for 30 minutes, one is a paid break the other one is not. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The work environment is okay and the culture is good. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Sometimes working in the same process path for the entire shift. On other days they labour share you and you get to work in a different process path if you are trained at it.

Horrible environment good temp job

What is the best part of working at the company? It was the stocks an vcp payout end of the year and they took it all away acclaiming the minimum wage raise they gave us is equal to the payouts and stocks which it’s not. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Workload for one person and the pay is not equal also the 10 hour shifts. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? If your Indian great environment they care more for that culture especially Punjabi. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Stress and micro management especially if they are intimated by your potential.

Not fair

Sometimes you start at 9/9:30/10:30/11:30am. You finish at 7:30/8:30/9:30pm. When you’re done your route, you have to finish others routes or else they remove a shift from the schedule. They only provide half the uniform after 7 months. Work 12 hours & you have to take your lunch at 12:30pm.THE ONLY GOOD PART: DISPATCH.

Points positifs

Dispatch is nice

Points négatifs

Long hours. Poor Management skills.

good place

"I recently had the opportunity to visit the YYZ9 Amazon fulfillment center, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I stepped inside, I was struck by the efficiency and organization of the facility. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always willing to assist with any questions or concerns. What stood out to me the most was the state-of-the-art technology utilized throughout the center. The advanced robotics and automated systems are truly remarkable, streamlining the process and ensuring orders are fulfilled quickly and accurately.Additionally, I was impressed by the commitment to sustainability demonstrated by Amazon at YYZ9. From the use of renewable energy sources to the implementation of eco-friendly packaging solutions, it's clear that environmental responsibility is a top priority for the company.Overall, my experience at YYZ9 was nothing short of exceptional. Amazon has truly set the standard for modern fulfillment centers, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of reliable and efficient order fulfillment."
