I have worked in the insurance industry for quite a while and can say with absolute confidence that working for Allstate was the worst experience of my life.
Sales jobs are not easy and cold calling, networking and learning to deal with the stress is integral to the job and to be expected but the management at Allstate have unrealistic targets from day one.Considering that they have very strict underwriting guidelines and a very specific target market, they should not be so hard on the new employees and atleast give them some time to learn the business and build it up.Not sure how they have been voted employee of the year, maybe the majority of the employees who were part of the vote were in non sales roles and happy but the BDA's are treated like machines.Agency managers are solely concerned with bringing in more business and worst of all if someone is unable to write sufficient business or struggling to meet targets, they are ridiculed, given no support or coaching and then fired. Those at the top care little as long as the company is churning profits.Managers also play employees against each other,do little to dissipate tensions hence contributing to a very unhealthy and toxic work environment My humble request to anyone thinking of joining Allstate as a BDA,please think twice and only go ahead if you already have an established network from which you can draw good business and are willing to have very little work life balance as well as a negative working environment with little job security.
Une vérification des antécédents criminels est-elle nécessaire chez Allstate Insurance?
Only for licensed Agent roles. The checks are completed by the regulatory body in each province, so timelines vary.
Previous user said background check takes about a month. Does that mean you have to wait for a month before they officially hire you? Do you know what is included in the background check? Did they ask for your consent?
Yes, a month is usually accurate for hiring time.
Small, friendly environment, your ideas will be heard, Allstate tries to do the right thing for customers and employees.
Possible E and O's, lots of material that comes up during calls that was missed during the training. Lack of transparency between company and agents.
