Ive worked at ALDO for nine months. The company and the staff have supported me a lot with everything I did. Their communication was great! they gave me an opportunity to grow within the field as well! Their environement is very friendly and their willing to help you grow into a better sales representative.

If you did not make your goals you are let go 2 weeks after. There is no recognition for making these goals mainly focused what you did not reach. Hours are cut if not making what they want you to. Oveerall, I love helping customers , but its sales driven so you are not aloud to focus on one customer for a long period of time , I love the fast pace however.
Typical sales/retail position. Typical day at work consists of helping customers solve their footwear problems by providing suggestions, or selling them footwear. Product itself is not always the best quality. People in the workplace tend to be friendly and willing to build connections. It is hard to move up in the company itself as promotion is based on amount of time worked instead of how hard or well you work. Most enjoyable part is the people.
people, flexible hours
little recognition for hardwork, no rewards/promotions, on your feet all day
A typical day at work revolves around meeting my individual and store quota for sales and enforcing the company's philosophy. I learn to work efficiently daily and improvise based on my customers' wants and needs. The culture is very trendy and requires me to have maximum knowledge on current fashion trends. During rush hours, the challenges remain the same - help every customer with a smile and build strong temporary relationships with them.
Typical Day : Welcome customers in positive attitude -Help style or find products a customer may like -Cash out customers, make orders & handle any returns or refunds -During down time restock items check prices for any changes -End of the day close tills/count makings or check and clean stations where products are located for the next day What I've Learned: Time management skills: While working for Aldos i've learned how to balance out my attention to core work duties and focusing on customer service while making sure my co-workers were working together and focused. Management: Very determined to make sure everyone made their sale goals for the day, friendly made sure employers were comfortable with their position in the work place. Culture: Fast past, team working skills necessary, Work and home schedules were addressed accordingly. Dress to impress, Hardest Part: Making sure co-workers are on the same pace & work ethic Most Enjoyable Part: Being able to go in knowing what exact duties need to be done by each member. Working together with co-workers and also independently
Employee discounts, advancements to higher postions
Managers were excellent, no usual retail cattiness that comes from working alongside younger staff. Starting wage was above minimum, even without retail experience.
Great hours, easy and well paced.
A typical day at work is delivering the best customer service I can to customers to ensure they have the best experience possible while finding the product they are looking for. Management is professional and good to work with, as well as all the co-workers. The hardest part of the job was to complete a big task in a short amount of time such as putting stock away and completing sequence changes. The most enjoyable part about working in the Aldo group was getting the satisfaction from customers telling me I did a great job helping them.
I worked at ALDO for 3 years and loved it! Everyone will rant about their part-time retail job sometimes...but I was lucky to have a fantastic manager (who was voted manager of the year! :) and team. ALDO is very fast-paced and competitive, it's definitely not a place where you can "chill." I, however, can't stand slow jobs and loved the fast environment. I also had amazing co-workers which made shifts go by in a wink! The hardest part of the job is definitely hitting your quotas, but once you get used to it, it becomes fun! The training and experience I got at ALDO was extremely broad and was a great experience to prepare me for the "real world" after I graduated. I would definitely recommend working here for anyone looking for a fun part-time job! They also have a lot of room for advancement, so if you want a great job in sales, this is definitely a great spot for you.
Fun and challenging work environment
Late finishing time some nights because of clean up or visual presentation update
Clock in and check in with manager. Make sure all inventory is ordered and there is a clean operable facility. Watched over shipments in and out of the store. Fast paced environment and great people.
As it was my first job, I learned to interact with many different types of people & was able to work with a great staff. Aldo has taught me everything I know about customer service and it was a great experience.
