Phenomenal career and position of growth if looking to pursue other policing agencies or to remain employed by the government with great benefits, pension, and wage. Diverse Law Enforcement experience, dealing with the general population and anyone coming into AHS Premise’. There is no normal day for an AHS Peace Officer - you may find yourself responding to fire related calls, medical calls, property crimes, crimes in progress, assist external Law Enforcement partners, and enforcement of Provincial Statutory Authorities which include; Trespass to Premises Act, Petty Trespass Act, Gaming Liquor and Cannabis Act, Public Health Act, Mental Health Act, Tobacco Smoking and Reduction Act, Traffic Safety Act all under the authority of the Provincial Offences and Procedures Act.

I've been with AHS PS for a number of years and while it's never been great, the shift in leadership in the past couple of years has eroded employee moral faster than anything I've seen before. Between the ineffective equipment selection, increased scrutiny and responsibly without guidance and only hearing from management through form letters sent by secretaries, officers who've been around for years are looking at leaving as are newly hired members like never before. It's hard to reach the guys up at the top and we know they don't want to hear what we have to say.

Most of the management have favorites and cater to them. It can be a tough environment to work in and difficult to plan when you never know when you are working.
