I love going to work everyday. Hospital staff and patients are great, however the pay is low for the amount of work we do. Work life balance is great. Management is supportive. You feel like part of a family here.
Great work place
I was a cleaner and the nurses and other staff were part of the reason I quit, the other was because I didn’t want to clean areas where people were dying in hospital. The pay was great and it’s the easiest job I’ve had, but has its downfalls
Great work environment. Most coworkers would go out of their way to lend a hand and help out when needed. Sometimes when you go above and beyond you are not appreciated for it though from the managers. Makes a person feel like not wanting to help out as much. Otherwise workload is good and environment is usually a fun place to be wether dealing with nursing or other departments.
Not feeling appreciated sometimes
I loved working for AHS for the firs 8 years of my work history. Unfortunately the environment changed drastically after contract negotiations failed
I was able to take the opportunity to receive training within AHS and my Union to further my educational background and strengthen my further opportunities.
I have benefits, pensionable hours and education opportunities
I have no job security

experience at different locations went from workers who would hide and not report when they have completed work which is frustrating to work with to another location where everyone was a team and had pride in their work. smaller locations seems to have better accountability.
Working evening shift 3-11pm, half an hour break twice for 8 hour shift. Management is fair, working with different back ground of people, meeting and working as a with team
meeting all my co-workers have a good time woking as a team
mechine breaks donwn, work not getting done on time do to that
I love this job. The people I work with are fun easy going. the job it self is enjoyable fun good high pace. The people I work around are fun helpful. there is always something new to learn
fun loving environment
as a casual it wasnt steady
I really appreciate the integrity if the environmental services department. Management was very aware of the staff and overseeing a job done timely and effectively.
Knowledge of health and safety was a must
Dictatorship management, more work than people/time, abundance of clip-board supervisors, very low morale, high expectations , poor communication Unfulfilling, task -oriented, ridiculous paperwork
Wage & benefits
Work felt like punishment
Over the 2 years, and 3 separate sites that I worked in, I found that every single site struggled in the Management. I found favoritism, bullying, and negligence to be the common factor in every site and there was little done to rectify the misconduct. Alberta Health Services is in need of a complete over-haul when it comes to patient care and the way the staff is treated. I have family members that also work for the organization and their departments are in just as much turmoil. Fix the system that is broken and working conditions will improve and so will the working morale. It is sad to know that tax paying citizens are paying for hard workers that have to deal with mediocrity and unjust working environments.
Alberta Health Services provides best benefits for their employees. Ensuring staff is competent in performing duties and responsibilities by providing training and education sessions to grow and develop. It is the best place to be!
Workplace safety was very important, there was always opportunity to voice any concerns within the workplace. There was always hands on learning experiences. If there were any problems, it was easy to voice them to managers. And i always found it enjoyable to work with the other employees. The hardest part of the job was the physical aspect of it, but that was also the best part becasue it kept me moving and active.
The Managment for Environmental Services at the Mayerthorpe Health care center are horrible people. Manipulators and very condescending. I don't suggest working there
Miss the old manger. Where shifts where given to everyone not just a certain few. Few years ago the hospital looked cleaner and seemed happier back then.
When everyone isn't doing their jobs things happen
