The managers lie during the job training about the warranty of the products being sold. They also lie about the way the contract works. The company vans are dirty. I sold a system for $250 but I only got $50 for my pay. Basically in training they tell you of a customer is not fully convinced to get the security system, you can waiver off and cancel any commission fees. (Which is normally $200) However if they get the system and commission is canceled. The company takes that $200 out of your paycheck. So they don't even pay workers fairly. Overall this company is a bad place to work at and I strongly recommend that people do not apply to work here.

-They do not tell you that if the installation fee is waivered, that money goes out of your commission -The number of people who quit is high (75% plus)-Company vans are not clean (full of crumbs and other stuff)-You really only start working at around 5pm cause that is when people come home

You usually start as a door-to-door salesman, and it is a great experience but as I mentioned it is not for everyone. If you are someone who does not care about self development and investing in yourself, do not even apply! Realize that you might not make any money in your first month and there is no success if you don’t stay consistent and educate yourself with the tools AG provides you. This job is definitely not for people who are just trying to make couple more bucks than working in tim hortons. Only con is you will work in rough weather conditions but having fun is always a part of this company.

Absolutely love it! Salary, you get paid for what you put into it. But they provide you with all the daily training, reading and roleplaying to make you a top rep. Started in the Toronto office and now in Alberta for the summer sales program. The sales team feels like family. The managers push you to be the best in all areas of your life, not just in sales for them. I find the job has really changed the way I interact with everyone in my life for the better, I find I see huge improvements in other areas of my life that have been created from ADT. It's scary in the beginning, but it's so rewarding and the money is ridiculously good once you get the hang of it. Can't expect the big bucks on day 1, compound interest.

This job at ADT is helping me with my communication skills and the ability to think on my feet. It is very collaborative with team meetings to practice and discuss scenarios while talking on the phone and having multiple points of view really helps. We each have our own style of talking to people and we find what works best for us. Superiors are available to help 24/7 with any problem.

Some staff were very nice, but higher up was terrible. Person who works below the owner yells and demoralizes employees. Treat and talks to them like they’re scum not even worth being respected. They talk poorly about clients and other staff. Embarrassing. When Labor Board calls, they get sent to a voicemail that is full that never gets checked. No benefits. Poor pay. A sham altogether.

I took this D2D role as a recent university graduate with an objective to enhance my people's skills. Due to my introverted nature, I chose to step out of my comfort zone by meeting strangers. It was a good experience in this sense and there were encouraging and supporting managers. It can be fun if you enjoy the work. Most sales reps last at most for a week or two. The payment was purely commission-based and only when a contract is signed and a security system is successfully installed in the customer's house. But there is ABSOLUTELY no communication from the managers and administration regarding canceled installations. I find out on payday. The managers keep stressing the fact that they cannot tolerate dishonesty towards the customers, yet they are betraying the trust of employees. The whole company takes advantage of young graduates and present them with false hopes. I get that income is uncapped but there are several external factors as well such as cold climate, and the fact that the manager kept procrastinating on printing my ID Badge. These are just some of my awful experiences. There is much more.

They get you in for an interview and not really tell you it's actually a door-to-door job. Staffs are extremely friendly but I am certain that 90% of the sales reps are not happy there. You start off with a base salary and quickly learn that you will be converted to commission only. Imagine knocking on 100 strangers doors daily and hoping they would buy a 3 year contract to make a living. This is a fine starting point if you want to learn a few things about sales but unfortunately nothing long term.
