Benefits are good but...
Crew Chief (Ancien employé) –  Richmond, BC1 juin 2018
The amount of work that you do on your schedule is ridiculous. The pay is good only if you're willing to break your back. You have no idea what you're doing and how many flights you'll be doing that day. You'll come into work and realize there's already a flight waiting for you to park and offload it. Super understaffed and sometimes they'll force you to work overtime. ATS at YVR does the baggage handling for Westjet and planes would come down nonstop. Half of the people are injured and still make people work. The supervisors are really nice, and will come to help you whenever something isn't going right. The managers only care about getting the job done and nothing about your health. There are other companies in YVR, pay less, but definitely keep everything organized and safe.

Great Place to work!
Ramp agent (Employé actuel) –  Richmond, BC27 mai 2018
ATS at YVR Is the premier place to work at YVR. Other ground handlers have worse pay and don’t care. Yes hours can be long but the airplanes and environment make up for it. Ive brought in 3 friends and even got a referral bonus. Company is awesome, management is better. Get a position here as they seem to be hiring now.
Points positifs
Amazing pay. Management is great.

Aircraft Groomer (Ancien employé) –  Edmonton, AB7 mai 2018
Don't work here. The only pro is the great people you get to meet and work with, but the management make it so difficult it is not worth it. Run away, far away. They tell you that there's flight benefits, but the hoops you have to jump through make it nigh impossible. ESPECIALLY if you're a groomer!

No day is the same
Ramp Agent (Employé actuel) –  Edmonton, AB7 décembre 2017
Whenever you walk into work, you never know what you will get. Its a good job but a tough job, and not for everyone. If you don't handle the outdoor elements well, don't apply. Working with planes is absolutely amazing, it is quite surreal, but there is not a lot of downtime. This is not a monday - friday, bankers hours job. You will work at all hours of the day, in all weather conditions with minimal regard for complaints.

Dont work here!
Ramp Agent (Ancien employé) –  Edmonton, AB22 août 2017
- overworked, underpaid, and un-valued.
- work can be fun as long as you work with other good ramp agents.
- equipment are always either tagged or under repair, therefore you end up having blamed for delays.
- management is lead by a dictator, on which she gives preferential treatment to whom she like. This is also true with some managers in the company, who either sits on their dm cars and pretend to do something, or stare at her computer and have lots of coffee breaks.
- you'll work with a terrible, ill-mannered morning bagroom lead, so ill-mannered, that management doesn't even care if you complain about her and is also giving her preferential treatment.
- management will try to find something to get you fired.
- very odd discipline points system, i.e you get a point on your record for callling-in sick, in which they could use against you at any time.
- really nice HR lady, but you could feel her hands are tied.
- there are many replacements available, so don't expect to be valued in the company, as there are out-of-high school students that are willing to replace you.
- expect to provide your own gear as company provided gear, such as jackets and gloves, are sub-par and inadequate...especially during winter time.

Productive, fun place, you can learn a lot
Ramp Attendant (Ancien employé) –  Montréal, QC28 juillet 2017
The best part in everyday tasks are challenging , is the weather outside, planes delayed, passengers or a simple baggage missing. Fast paced environment, you get to work outside so be ready for winter, the job itself is physical and very demanding, wear the appropriate clothing. If you do not enjoy the first 2 weeks just don't bother on continuing, it will only get though get tougher. Once you get the handle on everything it just become easier. Pay attention in training, the airport has its own rules and must be obeyed.
Points positifs
Working outside, meet all kinds of people, travel discount
Points négatifs
Shift work, concerns are hardly met, the paying could be better for the job that's done
