The environment is quite enjoyable. People are very helpful and friendly.

The work itself is quite enjoyable. The weather conditions may effect you but it always gets better according to the people you work with

Long days, no one cares
Ramp Agent (Ancien employé) –  Regina, SK20 mai 2019
Worked there for a year and no one seemed to take control of any issue that arises. Supervisors are experienced but co-workers are unreliable, making the reliable workers have to stay longer.

Fun but stressful to deal with management
Ramp Agent (Employé actuel) –  Toronto, ON14 septembre 2018
Its fun working on the ramp loading and offloading bags but management is slow to help you when you need them most. HR doesn't respond to emails most of the time and managers throw blame onto you whenever something goes wrong.

Expect to get suffer everyday.
Ramp Agent/Baggage Handler (Ancien employé) –  Vancouver, BC5 juillet 2018
flight after flight after flight. some days you wont even get a lunch break. this job is hardest job i have ever done in my life. they don't know how to run a ground handling company. no man power available. they always call you on your days off to come in for some extra overtime. expect no life when working this job.

a typical shift when first starting out..
3pm to midnight
1 hour unpaid lunch break.

get home by 1 am then by the time you sleep its 2 am. you wake up next day at noon because your so sore you cant even move. and repeat.

if you die on the ramp they will pay your family 25k to say sorry for your loss even if its because of negligence of employer or other employee
Points positifs
good benefits
Points négatifs
unpaid breaks, no breaks

Great Place to work!
Ramp agent (Employé actuel) –  Richmond, BC27 mai 2018
ATS at YVR Is the premier place to work at YVR. Other ground handlers have worse pay and don’t care. Yes hours can be long but the airplanes and environment make up for it. Ive brought in 3 friends and even got a referral bonus. Company is awesome, management is better. Get a position here as they seem to be hiring now.
Points positifs
Amazing pay. Management is great.

No day is the same
Ramp Agent (Employé actuel) –  Edmonton, AB7 décembre 2017
Whenever you walk into work, you never know what you will get. Its a good job but a tough job, and not for everyone. If you don't handle the outdoor elements well, don't apply. Working with planes is absolutely amazing, it is quite surreal, but there is not a lot of downtime. This is not a monday - friday, bankers hours job. You will work at all hours of the day, in all weather conditions with minimal regard for complaints.

Dont work here!
Ramp Agent (Ancien employé) –  Edmonton, AB22 août 2017
- overworked, underpaid, and un-valued.
- work can be fun as long as you work with other good ramp agents.
- equipment are always either tagged or under repair, therefore you end up having blamed for delays.
- management is lead by a dictator, on which she gives preferential treatment to whom she like. This is also true with some managers in the company, who either sits on their dm cars and pretend to do something, or stare at her computer and have lots of coffee breaks.
- you'll work with a terrible, ill-mannered morning bagroom lead, so ill-mannered, that management doesn't even care if you complain about her and is also giving her preferential treatment.
- management will try to find something to get you fired.
- very odd discipline points system, i.e you get a point on your record for callling-in sick, in which they could use against you at any time.
- really nice HR lady, but you could feel her hands are tied.
- there are many replacements available, so don't expect to be valued in the company, as there are out-of-high school students that are willing to replace you.
- expect to provide your own gear as company provided gear, such as jackets and gloves, are sub-par and inadequate...especially during winter time.

Ramp Agent (Ancien employé) –  Mississauga, ON29 mai 2017
If you have no other dedications to your daily life, then this job is for you. People working at the airport have their lives around the airport schedule. ATS provides hours if that is what you are looking for. Vending machine to purchase snacks and drinks available in the break room for $1.

Place to start to work on airports
Crew Chief/Ramp Agent (Employé actuel) –  Winnipeg, MB26 mai 2017
The pay is really low, you start with $11.30/hour, people come and go as they find higher paying positions. The higher management expects underpaid workers to play around with jet planes that cost millions of dollars. Work is hard, not for the weak ones. Summer, winter, cold, hot, rain, snow, -45 windchill, etc. This job is only for people who really like to work on airports and need the money. Middle-level management is okay, they understand the workers but can't do much about the pay.
Points positifs
Working outside, physical work (instead of a gym), fun for people who like airports, lots of overtime
Points négatifs
Low salary, high staff turnover, high management doesn't care about employees

Frustrating
Ramp Agent (Ancien employé) –  Edmonton, AB26 avril 2017
This is a position almost anyone can do with little to no experience in the airline industry. The hours are long though the amount of work that had to be done varies depending on which crew your on and what the season is. The job culture around this company is frustrating because if you are someone who is new to the industry they don't shadow you as well as other employers. Don't apply to work here unless it's something you enjoy or are familiar with the industry.
Points positifs
Flight Passes, Benefits
Points négatifs
Physically Demanding, Poor Job Culture, Lack of Overtime, Noise Polluted Environment
