Unfortunately they have big turn over in the Staffing Coordinator position

Avis en vedette

L'avis le plus utile, sélectionné par Indeed
A heavy workload for the Staffing Coordinator.Review all resumes, to see who is qualified for open positions. Print all resumes, call potential candidates, screening questions; then schedule into the office for registration.Scan all documents, add new employees, and input all information into Computer. Our initial Manager was fantastic, I loved her management style. Unfortunately, the manager left the company before we were fully trained. The hardest part of the job was the amount of daily workload. Many times I came into the office early and also worked late. As well the goals for the office to meet was unrealistic.I don't know how they think someone else can fill all orders with qualified candidates when no qualified candidates apply?

Points positifs

Only 2 employees working in office, we were hired together and thus learned together.

Points négatifs

High expectations on Staffing Coordinator, to fill all open orders when no qualified canadines applied, even Companies had job ads and they were not being filled.

Thank you for your comments, we appreciate your efforts in the role, and it is unfortunate you feel this way. We wish you all the very best in the future, and remind you that there was no need for you to come in early and stay later. Thank you.

Very naggy & no support for family medical emergencies

Very naggy - They will call and leave a voicemail & then, based on the date & time on my phone's call log and the date & time stamp on my e-mail, they would hang up and send me an e-mail asking to call them, SEVERAL times. It isn't necessary. I have call display & voicemail. I WILL call back. No support for family medical emergencies - You're only a number, if that. A family member had a medical emergency. I missed days in 2 consecutive weeks because of this. On Wednesday they told me I could get EI to take care of family member and to let them know by Friday. Family member did not need care so on Friday I e-mailed them to tell them I needed to go back to work. That Monday they issued me an ROE that had "Quit" as part of the reason for issuing the ROE. ROE also has letter code "E," the letter code for quit. Hit a rough patch and they do their employees bad like this. Washed their hands of it. No support or understanding. If you got or has trouble/issues they will get rid of you as quickly as they can & do anything/use any means to do it. Life happens. Can't always control everything. They're a prime example of a company who would post your job vacancy before your obituary if you died.

Worst company to work for in Canada

- If you want to experience a HUGE work overload and stress, I encourage you to work here. - They lie so much in EVERYTHING and they want you to do so. It does not feel right at all, you will feel a negative energy as soon as you enter the office. - They will NEVER let you reach one year of service so you don't benefit of the insurance. They do that with all employees in all their location except their CEO Group.

Points positifs

nothing

Points négatifs

work overload, stress, no benefits, favoritism

No

Low salaries compared to market and no good benefits. Job security is poor, people get fired left and right. The only good thing is work from home, otherwise it’s not great

The most exploiting companh I’ve ever seen

It appears that the employer sought legal counsel to draft employment documents that serve their interests while exploiting workers. The documents are written to ensure that they can extract the maximum amount of labor from employees without breaking any laws. Additionally, they require a proof of Social Insurance Number (SIN) before hiring. There are numerous unfavorable conditions in the documents, including - arriving at least 10 minutes early for every assignment, - agreeing to work up to 70 hours a week and 13 hours a day, - paying for expenses related to qualification verification, - accepting any assignment given. - Employees are also prohibited from disclosing company information to third parties, and failure to comply could result in legal action. (Imagine you tell your friend you had a bad day at work. It’s not just normal confidential information, but ANY information)If you are employed by this company, be aware that any dispute could be challenging to defend since you are not directly employed by the company where you are assigned. The documents are also overly complex, making it easy to unintentionally break terms. Furthermore, the company does not offer benefits but requires employees to sign an exploitative agreement that could harm them if legal issues arise.Don’t sign any documents at this company as they seem suspicious and exploitative.

Points positifs

Nothing

Points négatifs

Up to 13 hours a day, 70 hours a week, ask for the proof of SIN before hiring, arriving at least 10 minutes early for each assignment (that 10 min is not paid), pay for expenses they spend on verifying your qualifications for work

Would recommend working with advantage. Work Contracted jobs with various companies

They will assist you in finding employment, on call short term work with a number of different industries and companies you can work with. Pay is fair for the work you do.

Points positifs

Flexible schedule, good management

Points négatifs

Inconsistent hours no guaranteed schedule

Good place to work

Great place to start your career. Training is minimal but you can learn on the job. Lots of exposure to different projects can lead to quick advancement.

Good place to work

The interview process was fairly simple, go in and fill out some forms and then complete an interview with one of the staffing coordinators. They were able to find me suitable employment within less than a week which was great. Hoping to be hired fulltime but in the meantime have had no issues with Advantage

Quite honestly the worst place to work in Canada

The management is incompetent and slow. The people that work for advantage understand how to screw over employees in all aspects of life. If you want a sick day. Sure you can take one and never get paid. Their policies are horrendous. You will have to fight for anything you get there. It’s a scam to work for these people. They make money off of you and don’t care at all about you. They will make you want to unalive yourself on a good day of interaction with them. You are better off being unemployed than working for this company. Run.

Collaborative team and professional environment

As a former employee, I speak from experience in saying that Advantage is a great place to work! Although the branches are spread out across Canada, the work is collaborative with company meetings (virtual) to connect and share ideas/training sessions. The senior management team is always there to help when needed. Somedays can be busy which is overwhelming but with the proper time management and schedule, it's manageable.

One of the worst places I've ever worked.

This was one of the worst places I have ever worked. First of all, management LOVES to micro-manage - insisting you cc them on every single email you send. Secondly, there is an unwritten rule that you will work through your lunch break, which is only 30 minutes in a 9 hour work day. You are expected to be on call at all hours of the day/ night - there is NO work-life balance. For the amount of effort you're expected to put in, you receive very little pay and the benefit package was also terrible. If this is the type of job you'd like to build your career on, strongly consider working for another company.

Thank you for the comments we appreciate it. It is a tough market right now, and we try to do our very best for candidates and our clients.

Good place to work

Good place to work. Nothing special, just like any other agencies. Your schedule isn’t guaranteed since it’s an agency. But they’re really easy to deal with and they’re there for you when you need them.

Professional staff and efficient process

I worked with Alternative Human Resources which is part of the group. The staff were professional and the process was efficient. I was hired on before my 3 month probationary period because the company I work for wanted to hire me. There is some initial paperwork that needs to be filled out and an in person interview but overall seamless process. Thanks!

Points positifs

Efficient, Professional, Hired on quick

Thanks for the comments and overview of your experience with our company, and our AHR office in Burlington, Ontario. We hope you are doing well, take care.

Quick turnaround, good work, fair pay

I worked with Advantage Personnel and am writing this review 2 months after I stopped working with them as I got hired by their client full-time. It was a quick turnaround time from the initial interview to starting work, and I ended up getting hired on before the typical probationary period. The work is good and the pay is fair and on par with other companies in the area. I would recommend Advantage to anyone who's looking for work. I had a great experience.

Points positifs

Got hired before 3 months full-time by client, fair pay

Awesome company

I've worked with Advantage Personnel for just over a year now at one of their clients. The onboarding process was seamless and although there is some paperwork to fill out in the beginning, it is not any more than any other employer. I'm just in the process of being transferred over as a full-time employee and am very thankful for Advantage!

Unprofessional and time consuming.

Very unprofessional to work with. The Saint John office does not pay what they advertise. They take a lot of time to get back to you even after you have gone in and filled out piles of paperwork.

Sales are part of the job

Dealing with the public daily, cold calling businesses, Up sales, Recruit and interview on a daily basis, Always need to come up with ideas or slogans to lure people into signing at your location, Weekly payroll, Deliver cheques. Family owned business; it’s great if you can get someone hired full time with one of the employers on file. This is rare.

The staff at Advantage group are very friendly easy to talk with extremely helpful, in touch with me at leastonce a week. They where very good at finding jobs that where a good match for me and that I could get to either through walking or bus ( I don't drive ) . I would definitely recommend working with Advantage group

Worked there as a staffing coordinator in the office 8-5 but expected to answer calls 24/7. Very little training and support provided. Repetitive tasks.

Points négatifs

Long hours
