Had to work at least 6 days straight sometimes 13. Understaffed. No benefits except %40 off meals. Boss was also part owner and did not care about empoyees or customers. Only about making himself money. No raises. (Peachlad) bc location. Would not recommend working their. With a similar company now and its night and day. Completely differnt
Honestly one of the best jobs ive ever had, and most of the staff were great to work with. Like one big disfunctional family.
Overall working here was awesome, I didn't really have a social life though but the pay was SUPER GOOD, and when you actually worked hard, had a happy attitude and made customers feel at home, made it 100% easier to work there. I also got a 2 raises in less then 2 month because of that. What I didn't like is that I felt like I wasn't taken seriously as a good, GREAT employee. I had teens who didn't listen to me because the assistant Manager was friends with there family, also let them slide and slack off a lot when customers were around,(Whish isn't really professional) making my job difficult. A lot of the front staff employees spoke different languages in the front, (Which made it difficult because they could say anything, or talk behind your back, or exclude you from the conversation entirely) so a lot of the time I felt like I didn't fit in because I couldn't speak their language. And our assistant Manager has a past of being a creep to some of the younger girls or to the young adult girls who weren't family or didn't know his family. You definitely have to work there long enough to be considered one of "Them" but in the back of the kitchen everyone was a hoot, I loved most of the staff. But unfortunately I probably wont be work another fast food restaurant after this. But again, keep your head low, do your job and smile through everything, this will definitely turn into one of the best jobs you've ever had, hands down. Also they provide flexible schedules for students
Discounted food, a Good environment for improving, fun and professional work environment
Wont get benefits until 6 months to 1 year, discrimination, Hirer ups not taking their employees seriously, no room to grow
The job is very fun. The staff are very nice and the Management are very helpful. The schedules are very flexible to fit my standards but the only problem is they base pay rate on the amount of hours you work not how long you have been there and the experience
Management gives unfair payment

I absolutely love working at a&w. Just wish the pay was better. The job requirements are fairly easy, I love all of my customers and my coworkers are great as well. Not many students at my store so drama is at a minimum.
The owners don't care about the employees, "management" doesn't give you the raise you're supposed to get and they take advantage of you hardcore. (The "management" I refer to the Atherley store, the proper manager at the Monarch store is absolutely amazing even though the owners take advantage of her as well) ALSO the "manager" at the Atherley store doesnt know how to keep her hands to herself.
I have worked at A&W in Burns Lake for 6 years on and off because they understood I had school and training. working there showed me some great work ethic, communication skills, customer service skills, and time management skills.
free fountain drinks and offers health benifits and great colleages to work with
could use some more reliable staff
For me, working here is great . My managers are very nice and are always there to help, and i don’t have one co-worker who has been a jerk. I’m also getting payed slightly above minimum wage. It really all depends on what location you are at. Some will be great , some not so much. I’ve really enjoyed my experiences here!
Great environment, good pay, relatively easy work.
Sometimes not enough hours for what i would like .
Commercial broadway Vancouver store isn’t any fun to work at, short shifts, no listening to your problems. Highest politics in store i have seen at any job. Avoid! This is about that specific store i worked at because my friend was working at some other store and she said its great.
50% food discount
No guaranteed hours, no good money.
Store I worked at was decently maintained. Terribly managed, high school culture back talk. Cause everything was about client I couldn't manage team members accordingly. Too busy trying to be everyone's "buddy" as they would say. 0 loyalty for long term employees, laughable benefits for full timers. Dont bother.
I had a terrible experience working with A&W as a Manager they never give you any kind of benefits, Never appreciate your hard work and motivation. Pay you 40 hours works salary biweekly but want you to work 25 hours extra without any pay means voluntarily. Never going back their. Poor management from onwer
Favoritism is key in if you get hours. Doesnt matter who has been there longer. Things breakong constantly and taking months or years to get fixed. Wages are lowest of all fastfood.
Free food on your birthday ( only if you are working)
A&W was a nice place to work, I liked it better than McDonalds because they are really friendly and are family based. I usually just took orders and made sure people were doing their jobs properly.
50% off food
While I had learned a lot of things during my time at A&W, I was also pushed to my breaking point time and time again from either the way I'd seen management treat their staff to their ridiculously high expectations. Had to wait almost 5 months to receive a raise that I had been promised, despite constant reminder to management about it. Overall would definitely NOT recommend working here.
Some job advancement opportunities
Rude/unorganized management, low wage, very stressful environment
