All it is , is drama, management is terrible. Everyone’s in everyone’s business. They don’t care about body harassment and cover it. Would not recommend.

I’ve how to cooked a burger different kind of burger and the management and cultural is good as well and the hardest part of job in there is when the restaurant is getting busy specially on weekends

Job wasn't the best but co-workers made it better. Management belittled staff to their faces. Franchisee owner wouldn't do anything about it. Hours were hard to get, even though hired as full-time. Ended my time there barely getting 20 hours a week; it was blamed on COVID but just poor management.

As a part-time cashier, my typical day at work would be to take orders and bag them, count the cash till, and refill various things around the area. Coworkers were not likeable at all, the manager was always yelling at someone, including cashiers who were busy. I did enjoy taking orders and communicating with customers though. This job taught me basic cashiering skills and helped me gain experience in customer service. They also want you to know what goes on most burgers and will test you after a month of working.

Meh. It's fast food, take what you get. Theres a lot of bad attitudes but the turnover rate is a lot lower than you might expect. They'll pay you as little as possible at all times.

Mon expérience de travail chez A&W n'a pas été à merveille.Lorsque j'ai d'abord été embauché, une femme attentionnée et à l'écoute des ses employés occupait le poste de gérante. Suite à son départ, aucun membre de la direction n'était sur place outre les chefs de quart pour la grande majorité du temps. Il n'y avait aucun gérant(e) et les propriétaires étaient très souvent absents.D'ailleurs, lorsque ces derniers passaient au restaurant, c'était la panique totale. Dans le meilleur des cas, on se faisait reprocher de ne pas faire notre travail correctement. Dans le pire des cas... c'est une toute autre histoire. Certains employés se faisaient reprocher leur couleur de cheveux, d'autres, leurs ongles colorés.De plus, ayant été embauchés plusieurs semaines, mois ou années avant la pandémie, certains d'entre nous ont appris qu'on offrait des postes de caissiers et/ou de cuisiniers à un salaire plus élevé que le nôtre. À prendre en considération qu'aucune augmentation salariale n'a été proposée autre que la compensation en raison de la pandémie.La direction a peu de respect pour ses employés.

I will recommend this job for all teens it’s easy sometimes stressful but the team is really nice and understanding . They have really flexible schedule so it’s perfect if you are a student

The manger was always watching me on camera and would run out to the kitchen and yell at me if I made a mistake. I would often hear the manager say, " You should know this already" or " this is the last time we are telling you this ". I was confronted verbally only 10 minutes into my 15 minute break. Accusing me of taking extra time. The manager never apologized when I corrected her. You are required to remain in the building during break unless you are a smoker. It is not ok to sit in your car during break. You must be in plane sight of the supervisors in case they require you to return early to help out.The onion ring deep fryer oil was often black and smokey. Often after my shift my lungs were sore from inhaling smoke the whole entire time. That being said, when the oil was clean my lungs felt fine leaving work.The kitchen is very small and congested. Workers are always rushing and stepping into each other while working near hot stoves and deep fryers. Although they start you off with easier tasks in the beginning. I would not recommend this job to a person who is new to working at a fast food restaurant.

Wonderful coworkers and managers are really nice. The only thing is the customers which you’ll have to deal with because it’s what you signed up for when you apply to a fast food chain restaurant.

I had a very average experience working at A&W. Salary is good, a little higher than min wage I believe. Hours were really bad tho and poor communication.

Personally, I have really bad anxiety and the fast food environment worsened it but it also toughened me up. I really do not recommend working in fast food unless it's your only option and you absolutely need to survive. Typical day consists of taking orders, serving customers, cleaning tables (which is normal) and bathrooms constantly (which is kind of annoying) when they were open, cleaning the restaurant, packing deliveries, stocking the front, etc. Management was kind of bad. I started working in COVID and I got a lot of shifts but recently I had gotten no shifts and had to manage the front alone which can be stressful if you have the need to have someone there with you or you get overwhelmed easily. All my shifts were 8 hours, so i got really tired of it. I worked in downtown so I had to deal with a lot of rude customers and had to call the police a lot. Fast food workers get treated really badly so if you can't handle people threatening you, arguing with you, being rude, throwing drinks at you, etc then i really don't recommend. The people I worked with were really nice and fun which helped shifts a little bit. I learned a lot of skills though. Hardest part of the job was in my opinion getting too many deliveries and in store people at a time OR having to deal with really bothersome customers while having a rush of people ordering OR just being treated horribly honestly. Most enjoyable I find was any moment that is easy and peaceful for example when there are no customers or deliveries or when you have your favourite co-worker working with you. L'endroit où j'ai travaillé était éblouissant! Hormis le salaire, tout était parfait. Le restaurant était d'une propreté impeccable et j'apprenais beaucoup de choses à tous les jours. Ce n'était pas un travail c'était une école où j'avais le goût d'aller à tous les jours. J'avais du plaisirs avec les clients et j'aimais aller travailler. Tous les employé(e)/ faisaient des efforts pour améliorer le rendement du restaurant! Les patrons étaient perfectionnistes et tout fonctionnait bien. Les clients étaient heureux tout comme les employés.

Your typical day at A&w would be opening the store turning all the heater for the food slider on, making sure the coffee is on and make a fresh batch. Hardest part of the job was mostly the manager and the costumers because management is poorly employees have left because of it. the most enjoyable part of the job was I got to meet people my age and I got to work with two of my best friends

In the 4 years I was there, we went through 6+ managers and many more employees. I recognize that it isn't an end-game job but people were quitting because they didn't believe the stress and getting yelled at by everyone was worth minimum wage. I personally quit when they started firing people for little to no reason, it just didn't sit well with me.

I enjoyed my time working here as a second job and have actually considered going back on a few occasions. The staff I worked with were amazing and the management of the location I was at was awesome. It was fast food work, which isn’t awesome, but the people made it great

They have good food but the amount of respect you get there is unbelievably low, rude and very demanding! and sometimes when your cleaning you will find 1 or more cockroaches the bathroom and the place to keep your belongings is disgusting!
