Having a boss who talks about others is a very big no, and having a boss who doesn't understand what unsafe work means, needs to be trained better, ☹️

A&w I worked in was in the food court and it is usually busy during summer and every after school. It is a fun place to work and the menu is not really hard to memorize

Loved working at dub, very good management and made long term friends there. The environment is fact pace but not stressful as you have a great team supporting you.

I applied because they were looking for day time hours. I had my interview within a couple days and was hired on the spot. I learned you must pay for your own uniforms- 2 sets cost me about $250 Your online training must be finished before you start- that’s all done at home NOT paid About 10 hours for front end/ kitchen. At the start of the COVID pandemic, I went off work to care for my 2 young children as there was no school or daycare within 2 months all staff on CERB were let go due to “business downturn” and now a month later they are hiring again what a joke

Buy your own uniform, unpaid training. Toxic environment- shift supervisors swearing at you, making fun of customers, making fun of overweight employees.

My coworkers are very kind and sociable. They helped out a lot. Customers can be impatient but it isn’t a big deal! Some were very very nice!! My manager was very understanding and strict when needed (very responsible)

When I started here, I was in high school. It was a really good job, had some nice customers, and management was really nice. Understood and cared for us. Then came a couple months later. Got a new management system which kinda messed up the whole system We had. Had so much stress thrown on me as I was one of the good workers they had. Had some shifts with select workers who wouldn’t do their job, and made me do their jobs. When I talked to new management, they just shrugged it off, saying that I had to “carry” the slack. I was really young (15) at the time, and was expected to do so much work at $15 an hour. Customers sometimes were very rude, and wouldn’t care about the workers at all. Some would yell at me demanding refunds, and lie when complaining to management. I’ve also had to cover a lot of shifts while I worked here. When I was first hired, the manager (who I loved) didn’t schedule me too much and made sure to give me breaks. New management has made me work 6 days a week at times, even when I’ve told them I have other jobs at home I have to attend to. The A&W here has relied off me so much because of how good of a worker I was, they would just keep the staff who didn’t do their jobs because I could carry their workload with me. Some of the workers here were very nice, and would help me get through work, but some wouldn’t help, and as previously mentioned, make me do their work. One of the worst things I would say is how they treat the workers (a&w). It seems that no matter how much you work, you are expected to settle with your $15 an hour. I enjoyed the job minus the manager dealing with jealousy. I enjoyed meeting new people and learning new things about food. It's a job basically anyone can do

Getting paid student wage was not the best especially for the amount of extra hours I put in and how much I helped around the store. The staff and managers were overall really friendly and everyone gets along pretty well.

I never even got my first shift. I was hired on the spot, I proceeded to do online training which they do not pay you for btw. Many questions would require guessing given half of them they don't even provide the answers to, many glitches too. On one of the modules it wouldn't let me proceeded. I contacted my manager she went on saying she'd look into it. Never heard back. I wanted to work there part time to increase my communications and management skills. But the management can't even communicate simple things. Furthermore I was basically forced to quit, as I wasn't gonna wait around for weeks when I could work somewhere with diligent workers.

I was doing wayy too much work and was not getting paid enough. All the employees there spoke in their language never in english so i always felt left out. I never felt safe there either because there was alot of crazy people in and out of there,crackheads sleeping inside and injecting in the washroom. The washrooms was always a mess no matter how much it was cleaned.

Management was understanding when starting on the job, but quickly dismissed the employee's personal lives and lacked empathy. I was constantly encouraged by customers about my speed of service and kind personality but was berated by the manager that I "wasn't performing well enough". You are forced to stay long hours and told to stay another hour with SHORT notice, for example, 30 min before your shift is supposed to end. Co-workers embarrass others in front of the manager and supervisor at the climate meetings. The only good thing I would say is that it is delightful to see regular customers coming in and appreciating your work. Even if you are a quick learner, you are easily scolded by staff with the information they SUPPOSEDLY trained you with, even though that is false. Overall, I do not recommend working at this location as the toxic work environment and co-workers ruin the experience.

Getting to know your peers is a great factor. Not only that you also get to learn many new things at work. Management is also really good which makes working easier.

i did not have the best time working at A&W, but I enjoyed all of my coworkers, and it was a simple job. there was times of stress, but was easy job to clock in and out of.

My overall view it was quite good experience. I learnt a-lot. Sometimes it also have some negative points too, stressful job,wage os low. But there environment was so cool

Great first job! Love being able to go to work with such a great group of people. They are all very friendly and make me feel at home. A&W is a great place to work :)

The work culture at this location was very negative because of the inability to create a workspace where people are treated fairly and respected for the work they put in. There was a toxic employee that made others feel uncomfortable and nothing was done to fix this issue. It was a shame because, aside from that, it was a positive work experience for myself and my self-growth.

It was nice job for me overall. I came to know everything about my work. A lot of good working partners and good facilities that i got and deserved.A&W provides very good services and food to its customers

A typical day at work for me was busy mornings with lots of friendly faces. I learned a lot of customer service tips and how to work with money fast. Management was very hands on and worked with you. The hardest part of the job was doing the dishes. The most enjoyable part of working at A&W was building relationships with all of the regulars who came in everyday.

a very non enjoyable place to work, with terrible management that had favoritism. i learned nothing other then i wish i was working in an equal and fair environment and treated equally
