I worked at more than one location (one was a stand alone and one was in a mall they were owned by the same person.) The work itself was easy enough and many of my coworkers were very nice. There is online training to prep you for your on the job training (I can still recite the menu three years after quitting). Employee turnover was high which is normal but this included managers and supervisors which made things hard at times. I had multiple managers and none of them were overly nice but on the other hand, I had supervisors I still love to this day. I was given many opportunities including opening/closing shifts and formal on the job training of other employees (which was a supervisor duty but was given to me for a couple of the new employees). My main issues with the job revolve around the managers I had and the owner which means this is a situational issue because I have since met managers of other stores that are extremely nice. Scheduling was flexible but I frequently had issues of my managers scheduling during times I had booked off months in advance (I was given the okay for my days off then asked to come in while in vacation ie actually out of the country already and asked to come in for a three hour shift).I often was told my preferred shifts would be taken away from me if I didn’t meet the owners standards on minor things but at the same time was never thanked for the extra work done.My favourite part of working here were my coworkers and many of my regular customer who I grew to have a good relationship with.My least favourite part was only getting a single break - plus...

Working at A&W has its own ups and downs. Of course that's with any other workplace so I can't really say much about it.
It can get very hectic though has it would feel like you're the only person doing everything.
Managers and employees there before my being hired were given better hours and shifts. I only recieved maybe 2 days work a week and only for 3-4hrs at a time even after I expressed interest in more hours.

i learned what not to do and what to do as a supervior, it was a very intresting experience. good and bad experiences, but i feel as i did learn alot well i worked there.

would never recommend to anyone. the management is horrible the staff are rude and snuffy. honestly would would work anywhere else but there again....
some times it was slow but it often did get really busy. Good environment with great people. I learned WHIMIS and health and safety. You get trained on everything. Overall good place.
it was a pretty good environment to work in but I personally didn't like the management or co workers or the hours I got. an it wasn't the right fit for me

I had the worst expieeance here. The owner of the franchise I worked at was not always very pleasant to work with and was sexist. I would not recommend working here.
Overall I enjoyed my time working at A&W. I was very good at my job making it easy to go into work and to communicate with guests whether they were regulars or not! I would say near the end of my employment, management became a lot more difficult to deal with thus causing me to end my job there.
I enjoyed my time at A&W.
The hardest part is mornings as the menue is far more demanding.
My fellow emploees were friendly and funny.
My favourite thing was drive thru.

I was supervising for a while, upon the boss being verbally abusive to staff I stepped down. Upon being injured at work, the managers kept leaving without sending in WSIB information, eventually it got declined. Upon stepping down, my hours were cut drastically but the boss would say "I don't want to lose you" but provide me with less than 25hrs and call me 'full time.'
The management was a mess, always a stressful environment.
I was sexually assaulted in the workplace by my manager, he bit me in the shoulder. The employer handled this very poorly.
Upon asking a question to my employer about wrongful write-ups, I was terminated because he feels the "relationship could not be repaired" after yelling at me for asking a question, despite being the one who says "ask me anything" That evening he was asking me to return - I declined.
DO NOT work here.
They will take advantage of you.
Scold you for having another job despite not giving you another hours.
Poorly run. You can get another minimum wage job that will treat you better

what I have learned about working at A&W is that fast food is fast but keeping happy environment is everything to everyone working together

Selling mobile cases and repairing mobile phones. Inventory management. The hardest thing was I was the only employee and during slow time of the day it was difficult to pass time with no work.

A&W was an excellent place to work. I was able to learn and develop my customer service skills there. Typically a day included cooking meals for customers, counting tills, and making sure other staff was performing at their best. The staff were amazing and eager to help. The management was excellent as well. The only downside was that it was minimum wage and not in the direction of my career.
