Never be there late always make it on time, I didn’t do well because it was my first job!, plus I’m a mother so I have a lot in my plate. Everyone that works there are very friendly and they help you out a bit but most of the time you have too do things yourself. Like I said it’s a good first time job, just don’t be there late.

You don’t get a break unless you work 6 hours, and even then you get 1 half hour break. Even if you work 8+ hours. Always a very busy store (on Confederation St. Sarnia), and yet most of the time when we are busy we have a max of 4 people on, because “labor is too high”. A lot of excuses given. When the pandemic hit they let us decide if we wanted to wear a mask or not, and the manager at the time not only had to fight to give us the covid pay, but to get masks, gloves and hand sanitizer in store.

The days could either be slow or fast paced, and it could either be a good day or a bad day just depended on how everyone was feeling and how the day has been. I learned more people skills, how to close and work cash, and how to work in a kitchen. The management team was normally nice and sometimes easy to get along with.

Overall the job itself wasn't bad. Most of the staff play favorites, and basically either ignore you or are rude towards you. I wouldn't recommend working here at all. The amount of staff that are hired, and leave/fired is scary, they can't keep their staff for long. None of the guidelines were followed, things were not cleaned often, and when they were, it was done in a lazy way. Food was kept longer than recommended holding times. Always felt nervous and scared to go to work because of management and other staff. A few staff were very rude and treated everyone like children, or treated them like they knew nothing at all in front of new staff to gain "alpha" personality. Management: The management was okay at the start, very kind and helpful. After one left it became very unorganized and generally unenjoyable. Always had to remind them that I asked for certain time off, even when I did it way in advance. The hours were absolutely outrageous. Generally received 2-4 hours A WEEK. Meanwhile, others received up to 12-16. Sent home often due to lack of business. ALSO walked in the door once, and told that I'm not needed that night. Using the excuse "they called" but really, they never did. It'd take more money to get to the workplace then it did to make any money. Ridiculous. No room to improve, or grow. If you can suck up to the management right away go ahead and work here, otherwise don't bother...

My days were often good but some employees played favourites often which created a bad environment. This job is perfect for a first job as is any fast food. They were able to work around my schedule for school and sports.

i love the people i work with, they are very nice and understanding. I go into work and finish work always happy. It is a hard place to work, very fast but at the end of the day im happy with it.

Wouldn't recommend any employment here. The workplace is trash. The management sucks. There is no room for ladder-climbing in the industry. The owners are idiots who think they're above them all. The owner at Confed INCLUDED.

I enjoy the people and the fast past environment that comes with this job, I enjoy interacting with people. Always busy which I like, and that you meet all kinds of people while I have been working at A&W

Work mostly the rush hour lunch shift. Learned to count the till and do the drive though. Worked in the kitchen but mostly out front. Cleaned the dinning room and dishes.

cooking and serving customers was a typical day with some laughs with my co-workers. management was good learn a lot from them hardest part of the job was saying goodbye to the owner when they left to pursue other places in life. enjoyable part of work was when going to work you knew that each day was going to be a great day.
